Want to Feel Better? Here’s Your Solution.

I have a solution that will make you feel better.

It’s a solution to your problem.

What problem do you ask?  Any problem; be it financial, relationships, career, health, motivation, etc.  But first I have a question:

Do you love who you are?

If you are anything like me, that question doesn’t sit very well.

Did it just feel like I slapped you across your face? (Sorry about that).  It’s a tough question isn’t it?  Because it is just so easy to find fault in ourselves. To blame or to criticize.  And to berate our choices, looks, personality, and failures.

And yet, it is the single most important question to ask yourself…..especially if you are not happy and want something better in your life.

No matter what your challenge is, the answer begins with how you feel about yourself.

I don’t know about you, but the past 4 years have been pretty rough.  And I’m realizing that instead of fighting back, I’ve just paused.  No, that’s not quite right….I’ve been hiding.

Except that I didn’t realize I was hiding.

I thought I was living my life.  Doing something productive.  Spending time enjoying family, friends, and hobbies.

But as it turns out, I was really hiding.

And to make matters worse, this happened at the same time as I was entering “the woman’s change of life”.

And it’s been hell.  This thing we call menopause, this oh so “natural” thing that every single woman goes through is torturous!  Not just physically, but mentally and emotionally.  It is all consuming….and not in a good way.

Why don’t we women discuss this more?

Are we hoping it will go away if we just ignore it and keep quiet?

Honestly, this has been the most frustrating time of my life. And I know if you are a woman of a certain age reading this, you get it. IYKYK

So I’ve been on this downslope of poor health, poor mind, and poor living.  And all the while beating myself up.

Recently, I got bloodwork done and the results were disastrous….like ‘what the heck have I been doing, disastrous.’

At first, I wanted to go back into hiding.  Ignore what I was reading on paper.  Hide from what I knew would be a long road out.

But that just isn’t me. Health matters. Because it is the foundation of our life. And we can’t build a fabulous life on a crappy foundation.

Although going back into hiding would definitely be the easier road, I just couldn’t do it.  Maybe it was pride.  Or maybe it was rock bottom embarrassment.

Whatever it was, I was snapped awake.

What I’ve been doing isn’t working.  Because it led me to this very moment.  It led me to these blood results which were the tangible result of bad choices.

Our habits (mental or physical) create our outcomes….and our life.

What we do consistently, is what shows up.  And you know this is the case for both positive and negative habits.

For years now, I’ve been trying many different diets and exercises to combat my “change of life” and lifestyle.  Anything to help me feel more like myself.  Anything that would make me feel like I had control over my body again.

But nothing has worked.  And that made me hate myself more.  And mentally beat myself up more.

The mental beating started as soon as I woke and would continue throughout the day with my food choices, how I felt in my clothes and how I felt with lower energy and stress.

And you know why?  Because I didn’t love myself.  Not the woman I saw in the mirror.  That was not me.  That was not who I knew I was and who I want to be.

A close friend of mine once told me that when she saw her reflection, she thought, “I know I’m in there somewhere.”

Can you relate?

This morning it was like a rainbow appeared right above me.  And with it, came clarity. I could hear the words so clearly…..and it was something I already knew, but had forgotten:

The only diet that works is the Love Myself Diet.

The only lifestyle that produces a life where you feel good long term, is the Love Myself Lifestyle.

Love Yourself.  Period.  And you will begin to feel better.  You will begin to feel joyful. You will begin to appreciate the reflection looking back at you.

This has always been the foundation of Emerge Positive.  And yet I have slowly forgotten that for myself.

Do you want to feel better?

Do you want less stress and more joy?

Do you want to find clarity?

Do you want to live with purpose?

Do you want to connect with your tribe, your family, your lover?

Do you want to build more wealth than you can possibly imagine?

Do you want to create vibrant health for yourself?

Do you want to be in a career that is fun, challenging and impactful?

Do you want to see your reflection and smile?

Then Love Yourself.

It is truly that simple.  Start now.  Start where you are….exactly where you are.

You don’t need to get better first.  You don’t need to wait until you lose the weight. Or get a better job, or find a partner.

Stop putting yourself off.

Emerge Positive is going to support you in your journey of loving yourself.  Each day, I will post something on social media (Facebook/Instagram/Pinterest/Tik Tok) that will be a reminder and inspire you to keep going.

I’m doing this for us.

Because when we make the choice to love who we are, we improve the world.

How?

By showing up as our best self.

By knowing our value.

By understanding our impact.

By using our gifts and talents to help other people.

By creating focus, clarity, and empathy.

And by living our purpose. (which creates great Joy!)

And that improves our thoughts, our words, and the choices we make. Which allows us to make positive impact in the world….everywhere and every day.
