What If This Season of Your Life Is Supposed to Feel Good?

Hi there!

I had a moment this week where I realized something…

Nothing was wrong. And yet, I still felt like I should be doing more.

More work. More progress. More planning. More… something.

When Nothing Is Wrong, But You Still Feel the Need to Do More

It’s subtle, but it’s there.

That quiet feeling that says:
“Don’t get too comfortable.”
“You should be doing something more productive right now.”

And I caught myself in it.

Because if I’m being honest… things are actually good right now.

Not perfect. Not everything figured out. But good.

And instead of letting that feel good, I was already trying to move past it.

I see this so often with the women I work with.

We spend years building, working, raising families, solving problems, pushing forward… always focused on what’s next.

And somewhere along the way, we lose the ability to just be in a moment that’s already okay.

We’ve been so conditioned to fix what’s not working, improve what could be better, and plan what comes next that even when life gives us a moment to breathe… we don’t fully take it in.

What If This Season Isn’t Meant to Be Fixed?

But what if this season of your life isn’t meant to be fixed?

What if it’s not about pushing harder, or figuring everything out, or getting somewhere else?

What if this season is actually meant to just feel good?

I’m not talking about ignoring your goals or pretending everything is perfect.

I’m talking about something much simpler… and honestly, much harder.

Letting yourself enjoy your life as it is right now.

Without guilt.
Without needing to earn it.
Without immediately turning it into a project.

Because here’s what I’ve come to realize:

Joy Is Not the Reward at the End

So many women in midlife are still living as if joy is something we get after everything is done.

After the work.
After the responsibilities.
After we’ve finally “figured it all out.”

But what if that moment never actually comes?

What if the life you’ve been working so hard to build… is already here in pieces?

What if joy isn’t the reward at the end, but something you’re meant to experience along the way?

And maybe the real shift isn’t about doing more…

Maybe it’s about allowing more.

Because the life you’re building isn’t only about what you achieve — it’s about what you allow yourself to feel along the way.

More presence.
More ease.
More moments that don’t need to be optimized or improved.

More moments where you simply say:

This is good.
This is enough for right now.

Designing Your Next Decade Is About How You Want Life to Feel

Because when you start designing your next decade, it’s not just about what you want to accomplish.

It’s about how you want your life to feel.

And if you’re not allowing yourself to feel good now, it’s worth asking why.

So today, I’ll leave you with this:

Where in your life is something already good… that you’re not fully letting yourself enjoy?

Maybe nothing needs to change.

Maybe this moment… is one you’re meant to feel.

A Podcast Episode to Help You Practice Presence

Before you go, I want to share a podcast episode that connects directly to what we’re talking about today: “Time is Tapping You on the Shoulder: How to Be Present Before Life Changes Again.” It’s for the moments when nothing is “wrong,” but you still feel the pull to do more, fix more, or rush ahead. If you’re ready to practice being here — in the middle of a life that’s already good — you can see it on YouTube here: https://youtu.be/Bx1ayLMyYFk

Positively,

Deanne

PS: 🌷With Mother’s Day coming up, I want to offer a different perspective:

What if this year… you chose yourself?

Not in a big, dramatic way.
But in a meaningful one.
