Make one anchor choice today and feel the lift all week.
Every day you’re planting seeds—most of the time without even noticing.
What if I told you that each of those seeds were the outcome of the choices you are making? And that they are determining the direction and outcome of your day? Of your week? And of your year?
What if your choices are creating a life you don’t want?
Your choices are that powerful.
Even the minuscule choices.
Like, when did you go to bed last night?
What did you think about first thing in the morning?
What did you eat for breakfast?
These all matter.
But we typically are running too fast to pay close attention. We just check the box and move on without a second thought.
If your life is not what you want it to be, it’s time to start paying attention.
It’s time to take responsibility for your life.
Because you are the one creating it.
The One Thing
When I put myself through the mental exercise of reviewing my daily choices, I typically end up at my ‘one thing’. When I drill down, I can easily see that going to bed by 10p is the most powerful and important thing I can do to get me the results I want.
I realize a bedtime does not seem overly important.
But it is. Because it has a snowball effect.
When I get to sleep by 10p, I don’t snack at night. I also don’t pour an additional glass of wine. I feel better about myself and I typically get a better sleep.
And the benefits roll into the next day. I wake up naturally between 6a and 6:30a, giving me time for a 60-minute morning routine to set my intentions and energy for the day.
And this creates a wave of powerful outcomes for me, both personally and professionally.
All because of my choice of when to go to bed.
And I can say this with 100% confidence because I didn’t do it last night! And the result?
I feel like crap, I can’t focus and I don’t feel like doing anything productive…including my morning routine. What a horrible waste of a morning!
So I’m trying to turn this bus around by eating a heathy breakfast, meditating and doing some journal work. It’s very intentional. And of course, I’m getting by butt into bed early tonight!
Think about your daily choices….which ones have far reaching impact?
Maybe it’s your daily walk.
Or the protein shake you drink for breakfast.
Or the meditation you do at lunch.
Once we make a positive choice for ourselves — especially ones that benefit our emotional and physical health, we attract other good choices throughout our day.
